On Monday, inspired by a very rainy day, I wanted to write a post about weddings "wet" (basically it can happen to marry under the deluge, and it is always advisable to keep in mind when planning). With the passing of the hours my inspiration has become a concern, and before long, tragedy! A dramatic flood that has engulfed Vicenza (and many other areas of the Veneto), destroying much of the city and making three victims.
Within hours the lives of many people has been sorely tested.
Thousands of flooded basements, cars floating houses, shops, bars, restaurants, laboratories completely flooded. Among these was the showroom of Glam scenography, ContrĂ located in Saint Lucia, one of the hardest hit in the center of Vicenza.
In my life I thought I could not attend something so overwhelming. Often we see the TV images of natural disasters, but until you live in the first person can not understand the helplessness he feels the man at the power of nature.
people stuck without electricity, no telephone, no heat for days. Sufferers are unable to reach the hospital. Pets lost and drowned. Activities created with great sacrifice, completely redone. Years of life thrown in several inches of water and fango.E these are only a small fraction of the damage caused by the flood.
What to do after that? Turn the page and start again with the same strength and determination than before, with the knowledge that everything passes, and that is reborn from the worries fortified.
Today, after nearly a week of hard work into the mud to throw it all away, with the invaluable help of friends, volunteers, civil defense, fire brigade, environmental professionals, law enforcement, military, etc.. we are "back to square one." A new world is waiting to be rebuilt. Normality does not wait for us and our strength of will that struggles to be seen!

Before and after the flood
